Notebooks

A notebook is a set of pages you import or write from scratch, and edit directly — meeting notes, a research file, a report, a manual. You can choose to edit in rich text or in Markdown.

You can import a notebook from a document written in a variety of formats, and save it into a number of formats as well. For example, you can import a notebook from Word, and export it to Word after you're done. You can import an XML document and split it into pages.

The table of contents is automatically created from the first line of every page. You can cut pages with scissors, and glue them together as you want.

What makes a Networker notebook different is what happens as you write. The names of things you mention — a project, a place, an idea, a source — become topics on the page. You stay in control: accept suggestions, add your own, remove what doesn’t belong. Each page ends up carrying a visible list of what it’s actually about, and that list is live — every entry leads to everything else in your material that touches the same topic.
